DTN Retail Fertilizer Trends

OMAHA (DTN) -- Average retail fertilizer prices show a great divide occurring with some products' prices rising while others continue steady, according to retailers surveyed by DTN for the third week of January 2014.

Five of the eight major fertilizers were higher compared to the third week of December. Leading the way higher was urea, now 9% more expensive compared to a month previous. The nitrogen fertilizer's average price is at $489/ton.

Four other fertilizers were also higher but the move higher was fairly small. DAP had an average price of $510/ton, MAP $537/ton, UAN28 $332/ton and UAN32 $374/ton.
