AMMONIA

World ammonia market prices firmed slightly through April. Yuzhnyy prices moved from $500 metric ton fob early to $505-$510 late. Through most of April, there were production problems (political, gas shortages) at various North African suppliers, which served to keep supplies tight in the world market. Toward month's end, however, some of the supply disruptions seemed to be going away. Shipments resumed out of Libya and Algerian supplies appeared to be moving steadily. Also, one of the Qafco, Qatar, ammonia lines will restart soon, coming up after a turnaround. The upheavals in Ukraine appear to be having no effect ...
