Propane Tightness Easing

DAVENPORT, Neb. (DTN) -- With late harvest bringing in a great deal of higher-moisture corn, some Midwest farmers may have found it difficult to access the propane needed to dry down corn.

What was perceived as a shortage was actually more of a problem with getting the propane to the areas that needed it, according to Ken Mastel, manager of Dawson Oil, a propane dealer in Dawson, Minn.

There was never a shortage of propane supplies, Mastel said, rather there was a pipeline capacity problem and truck problem.
