Counting on Cover Crops

OMAHA (DTN) -- Organizers of the National Conference on Cover Crops & Soil Health have an ambitious goal of re-establishing the importance that cover crops play in soil nutrients and expanding the planting of cover crops tenfold to 20 million acres, ideally by 2020.

Right now, it's estimated that farmers nationally grow about 2 million acres of cover crops, but the idea of growing more cover crops is gaining traction from a broad range of people.
