Twice King Corn has stood on the gallows, once for a hanging (last November) and more recently (last Tuesday) the guillotine, only to somehow escape the execution expected yield and production estimates would bring.

Like the famous outlaw Jesse James, somehow it seems fitting that a purported confidant could bring about King Corn's ultimate demise. In regard to corn's long-term demand market, the government could borrow a line from Bill Cosby's fatherly love routine: "I brought you into this world, I can take you out."
