DTN Midday Livestock Comments

GENERAL COMMENTS:

Moderate to strong gains are seen in all but front-month lean hog futures at midday. August lean hog futures are holding sharp losses as traders continue to roll out of August futures and into the actively traded October and December contracts. Strong gains are seen in nearby cattle futures with the main focus seen in feeder cattle gains Monday morning. Corn futures are higher at midday. September corn futures are 3 cents per bushel higher. Stock markets are higher in light trade. The Dow Jones is points points higher while Nasdaq is up 17 points.
