DTN Midday Livestock Comments

GENERAL COMMENTS:

Livestock futures are mixed following weaker opening price levels. Generally, lean hog futures have posted moderate gains with some expectation that firmness is being established in fundamentals. Feeder cattle futures are under sharp pressure based on weaker live cattle prices and gains in corn markets. Corn futures are higher at midday. December corn futures are 4 cents higher at midday. Stock markets are lower in light trade. The Dow Jones is 94 points lower while Nasdaq is down 25 points.
