The sound of green leaves flapping in a mild July breeze is music to a farmer's ears -- more appreciated and familiar than even "America the Beautiful" or any of the other patriotic tunes commonly heard around this time of year. Upon hearing this sound and looking upon its source, it seems to be impossible to keep one particular phrase from rolling off the tongue. It doesn't matter if the corn plants are a stunted 5 inches or a colossal 6 feet tall, no one is capable of stopping the words "Knee high by the Fourth of July!" from popping ...
