LIVESTOCK COMPANIES SEEK EXEMPTION FROM TRUCKING RULE

Livestock producers want an exemption for truck drivers carrying pigs, cows and other animals from federal rules requiring rest breaks every eight hours on the job. The National Pork Producers Council filed a petition with the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) asking the agency to remove a requirement for daily 30-minute breaks for its truckers.
