AG COMMITTEES COULD PASS SIGNIFICANTLY DIFFERENT FARM BILLS

Congress is in recess this week, but when members return in May, both the House and Senate Agriculture committees are scheduled to draft what will become the 2013 farm bill. House panel Chairman Frank Lucas, R-Okla., has indicated that he intends to begin work on the legislation on May 15, and Senate Chair Debbie Stabenow, D-Mich., says she also plans to move the legislation through her committee during May.
