WRDA Bill Misses Key Fixes

WASHINGTON (DTN) --- While senators prepare for Wednesday's markup of the latest version of the Water Resources Development Act, business leaders who work in river industries such as barges were across town talking about changes to make the bill more to their liking.

The Senate Environment and Public Works Committee could pass the bill as early as Wednesday. With Committee Chairwoman Barbara Boxer, D-Calif., and ranking member David Vitter, R-La., backing the bill, its prospects of getting a floor debate are good later this spring.
