HOUSE DEMOCRATS PLAN ALTERNATIVE TRADE PROMOTION BILL

Leaders of the House and Senate committees that oversee the nation's trade policies last week introduced legislation that would provide the Obama administration with the Trade Promotion Authority it will need to conclude an agreement with the European Union and another with 12 Pacific Rim nations. However, the proposal apparently does not enjoy the support of a number of House Democrats who are working on an alternative measure.
