House Floats Waterways Bill

OMAHA (DTN) -- Congress will take up a new bill Wednesday to reauthorize port and inland waterway projects as well as overhaul Corps of Engineers planning for such projects and eliminate some projects that have never really gotten out of the planning stage.

Similar to the way the farm bill tells USDA what to do, the Water Resources Development Act, or WRDA, tells the Army Corps of Engineers how to spend its money on mandatory programs.
