USDA Moving Forward With New Livestock Disaster Programs

As promised by President Barack Obama and Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack, USDA has issued regulations for livestock disaster programs that were reauthorized by the 2014 farm bill. And although one of the stated goals of the new farm legislation was to reduce spending, Congress actually increased the per-person payment limit for livestock programs from $100,000 under the old programs to $125,000 now.
