Administration Says Farm Bill Needed to Continue Support for Farm Exports

The Senate last week joined the House in a year-end recess, with neither chamber scheduled to return until the second session of the 113th Congress gets underway in January. However, the official time away from Washington is not expected to halt the ongoing closed-door discussions on the farm bill being conducted by House and Senate conferees and their staffs who have a target of next month to complete their work.
