Agriculture Committee Leaders Remain Optimistic About Prospects for New Farm Bill

The outlook for the farm bill remains unsettled even as Democratic and Republican committee leaders claim to be making progress, and their goal remains getting a conference report to both chambers before Dec. 13. But when there was no announcement of a deal coming together before the Thanksgiving recess, optimism appeared to drop significantly outside the committees.
