Ryan Backs Away from December Deadline for Congressional Budget Resolution

Rep. Paul Ryan, R-Wis., the chairman of the House Budget Committee and of the House-Senate budget conference committee now says that the panel's Dec. 13 target deadline is non-binding. This is a recognition of the reality of the situation because reports from the conference committee are that little, if any, progress has been made on developing a budget blueprint that is acceptable to both chambers.
