Energy Efficiency Bill Derailed in Senate

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev., last week dropped plans to consider an energy efficiency bill after Republicans insisted that the chamber consider as many as 45 amendments –– many of them non-germane –– during the debate. Reid may schedule the measure for floor consideration once the Senate completes action on the stop-gap spending bill that the House approved last Friday.
