Japan's Farmers Remain Wary of Trade Liberalization

Japan recently announced that it would join talks aimed at bringing about a Trans-Pacific Partnership free trade agreement, even as it continues to negotiate a separate FTA with the European Union. In both instances, the issue of trade in agricultural and food items may present a major barrier to success.
