Here's a quick monitor of Washington farm and trade policy issues from DTN's well-placed observer.

Farm Bill Closer to Conference Consideration

Yesterday, the House sent its version of the farm bill to the Senate, the next-to-the-last step before the conference committee can begin work. The final step would be for leaders in both chambers to appoint members to the committee.

The House approved its version of the farm bill on July 11, the Senate on June 10.
