Curbing Nutrient Pollution to Remain a Major Issue for EPA This Year

Under a 2010 legal settlement with the Chesapeake Bay Foundation, the Environmental Protection Agency has until April 30 to propose revisions to the existing rules for concentrated animal feeding operations that could make it easier for the agency to designate large animal feedlots as CAFOs under the Clean Water Act. The American Farm Bureau Federation says said the rule could extend to feedlots with fewer than 12,000 animals, operations ...
