DTN Midday Livestock Comments

GENERAL COMMENTS:

Hog futures remain higher at midday, but have lost a lot of ground from the strong early support seen Wednesday morning. Prices have remained mixed at different times in the morning as traders are focusing on potential demand shifts due to export activity. Cattle futures are mixed but have gained moderate support as the session develops. Corn futures are higher at midday. September corn futures are 4 cents per bushel lower. Stock markets are higher in light trade. The Dow Jones is 37 points higher while Nasdaq is up 17 points.
