1977 USDA final estimate was 6.36 Bil Bu vs 6.1 Bil Bu August estimate. That final estimate was 4% above the August. USDA archives did not have an August estimate for the 1956 crop. The annual report for '56 listed all corn production at 3.45 Bil Bu. Also--Informa is calling for a final US corn crop this year of 11.2 Billion bushels, around 4% above the USDA 10.8 Bil Bu August estimate.
