Why are some people so afraid of openness and honesty?

It is not the openness and honesty that the processors and their talking heads are concerned with, it is the paperwork and process they don't want. And if you look at it, the process of keeping track of what came from where and label it right would be an undertaking. And if the public liked knowing where their food came from it might make the processors purchase US beef, if that is what the customers want, which would cost them more. Just like in congress, it always comes to where the dollars rule.
