Spot Ethanol Mostly Lower on Rising Supply, Demand Eases

Spot ethanol prices eased in most regional hubs after the Energy Information Administration reported that ethanol stocks increased last week to a three-week high on rising production while demand tumbled to a five-week low.

A prompt ethanol barge at the New York Harbor traded at $2.14 per gallon before paring the loss, last pegged at $2.18 per gallon, down 3.0 cents on the day. September ethanol barge at Linden, N.J., traded at $2.19 per gallon, down 4.0 cents on the day. Along the West Coast, prompt Northern California ethanol was talked at a $2.33 to $2.38 per gallon bid/ask spread, down 2.5 cents.
