CME RIN Swaps Market Sees First Trade Since May 13 Launch

CME RIN swaps traded for the first time this morning, said managing director of brokerage firm Next Generation Commodities Josh Bailer. He reported being involved as a broker in a trade for July 2013 D6 RIN swap on CME at 92 cents.

CME RIN swaps started trading May 13 and this is the first RIN trade, he added.

"This CME RIN swap market is attracting interest," said Bailer. "It has got a lot of momentum, and more and more traders, refiners and blenders have taken notice of it and are interested in transacting. As the product develops and liquidity increases, it will provide a better hedging tool for obligated parties."
