Analyst Expects Lower Ethanol Prices to Spur Fresh Demand

U.S. spot ethanol prices fell in the New York Harbor and Chicago's Argo hub on a lack of short-term buying interest ahead of Friday's federal quarterly crop stocks. However, buyers were likely to return if ethanol prices drop to $2.00 a gallon in Chicago, suggesting a rebound may be close, said analyst Jerrod Kitt at the Linn Group. Ethanol prices in Chicago Thursday afternoon were holding at $2.21 gallon.
