Ethanol Inventory Climbs

U.S. spot ethanol prices were mostly lower in early trade, extending losses for the third straight session after federal data detailing higher weekly ethanol supplies countered a rebound for demand. Energy Information Administration said ethanol inventories climbed 372,000 bbl or 2.0% to 19.325 million bbl last week while implied demand rose 21,000 bpd or 2.7% to 809,000 bpd. Production by domestic plants also jumped 2% for the week as some offline plants returned to service.
