Supply Data Pressures Spot Ethanol Prices

Spot ethanol prices moved mixed early Thursday in tracking a rebound in CBOT corn futures, while ethanol data released by the Energy Information Administration for the final week of August weighed on cash values.

The EIA detailed a 10,000 bpd hike in ethanol production and a 200,000 bbl increase in domestic supply for last week of August to 18.7 million bbl, with stocks up 1.6 million bbl or 9.4% from the comparable year-ago period and 5.7% higher than two years ago. Blending demand however eased 4,000 bpd to 841,000 bpd.
